Physical testing, inspection and strip-down work to confirm the root cause of mechanical faults — before any repair is recommended.
Some faults cannot be confirmed by electronic diagnostics alone. When the issue is physical — a noise, a vibration, an oil leak, a driveline concern — the investigation has to be hands-on.
Our mechanical investigation service is used where physical testing, inspection or partial strip-down is needed to confirm the cause of a problem. We work methodically through the likely causes, testing rather than assuming, until the fault is identified.
Before any strip-down work begins, we carry out a structured assessment. This helps ensure that any investigation is focused and proportionate to the fault. Where possible, we test the vehicle first — road testing, visual checks, and any relevant electronic data — before committing to physical disassembly.
Once the cause is confirmed, we provide a clear written report of findings along with a written estimate for the repair work required. You remain in control of how to proceed from there.
Many faults benefit from both electronic and mechanical investigation. A fault code might indicate a sensor issue that turns out to be caused by a mechanical fault elsewhere in the system. We approach each vehicle as a whole, and we use whichever investigation method — or combination of methods — is most likely to confirm the cause accurately.
We never carry out chargeable strip-down work without discussing it with you first. If investigation requires partial disassembly, we will explain what is involved, what it will cost and what we expect to find. You decide whether to proceed.
If the fault turns out to be more involved than expected, we contact you before continuing. No surprises.
Mechanical investigation session. Covers physical inspection and assessment to identify the root cause.
Clear findings and a written estimate for repair work. Useful for warranty claims and informed decision-making.
We confirm the fault before recommending repairs. You won't be paying for parts that don't fix the problem.
Once the fault is confirmed, repairs can usually be completed through our Servicing & Repairs workshop.
